Essex Cultural Diversity Project is working with Bexley Council to shape a programme of activities at Lesnes Abbey especially designed for diverse communities. Could you be part of an informal virtual steering group representing diverse communities around the Abbey Wood area, including Bexleyheath, Woolwich, Dartford? A great opportunity to feed in your thoughts on the park, what events and activities you’d like to see, how you’d like to use the park? https://www.lesnesabbeywoods.org/
Please note, we will adapt this challenge according to Covid restrictions. By planning now, we’ll be in a better position once restrictions are lifted.
Your involvement will be helpful whether it’s a one-off 10 minutes, or a regular monthly conversation. We will work with you in whichever way is best for you. This could be a group discussion on zoom, or simply a one-to-one telephone conversation. We will talk about whether you use the park, what for, and what activities and events you’d like to see there. If you don’t use the park, we’d like to find out any reasons why not, and whether there’s anything we could do to make the park more accessible or attractive to your community.
Why get involved?
This is an opportunity to directly influence the activities, opportunities and events available at Lesnes Abbey Woods. Essex Cultural Diversity Project are working with Bexley Council to engage local residents, with a strong focus on diverse communities, to encourage as many people as possible to use and enjoy the 88 hectare park and woodlands, ancient ruins, recreation area and lodge. You can help shape a range of open house events such as a community family day, volunteer taster day, ruins tour and World Music Stage event.
